The house sleeps 10 to 13 people in five bedrooms – 4 upstairs and 1 accessible bedroom downstairs. Unfortunately, no pets are allowed.
Bedrooms
4 Upstairs: Room 1, large room – 1 twin or double and 2 singles. Room 2 – 1 twin or double with room for extra single bed or cot (on request). Room 3 – 1 double plus extra single bed or cot (on request). Room 4, large room – 1 twin or double and 1 single plus extra single bed (on request). 2 shower rooms and 2 separate WC.
1 Downstairs: Room 5 – twin or double en-suite wet room with shower.
Downstairs
The Carthouse’s interior has lime-washed walls and floors paved with terracotta tiles. Solar panels, boosted by a log boiler, supply hot water for all purposes, including the underfloor heating.
The open plan living space includes a comfortable sitting area with a wood-burning stove, a large dining table sitting at least 12 and a fully equipped kitchen with a walk-in larder, SMEG fridge freezer and dishwasher. There is a large ESSE wood-fired cooker as well as gas and electric hobs and electric oven.
What was the cart shed is now a ground floor bedroom looking out onto the garden. It is fully accessible with en-suite wet room and ramp. The former tack room is the hall and cloakroom with an elegant ash staircase leading to the first floor. There is also a boot room and a utility room with sink, washing machine, tumble drier and hanging rack for washing as well as an extra fridge and freezer.
Upstairs
There are 2 separate toilets and 2 washrooms equipped with modern showers and washbasin with a shaving point and mirror. The windows have west facing views over the countryside.
Outside
At the front of the Carthouse, there is plenty of space for parking and a bench for sitting in the morning sun.
At the back, the glass-covered veranda on the southwest side has a long table and benches for outside eating, and a modern BBQ. There are deckchairs for relaxing in the large, enclosed garden with plenty of grass space for playing and 2 children’s swings. Some games equipment is available. For indoor fun, there is a separate games room with a table tennis table.
